Cultivating Good Habits

In my previous blog posts I spoke about conducting a Life Audit which will help analyze where we are currently and where we are going on our journey. During my own personal audit, I realized that my habits played a big role in manifesting the things that I want and the life I dream of living.

By Marriam – Webster’s definition the word HABIT means “a settled tendency or usual manner of behavior”. When I began to examine my habits, I had this negative feeling about them. I understand that most times we associate the word habit with something negative we are doing. Sort of how we view a spending or drinking habit. Honestly, whether a habit is deemed bad depends on our personal perception and the perception of society.

We ultimately have the power to cultivate new positive habits to improve our quality of life. Some of my bad habits are procrastination, fear, and poor time management. I consistently work to make myself fully aware of when I am operating in those spaces.  We must intentionally work to break these cycles. It sounds simple but most days I struggle, and I know you struggle too.

My catalyst for incorporating new and healthy habits are reading, listening to podcasts and TED talks. By expanding my hard skills, soft skills, and my mindset It will place me ahead in life and closer to my goals.  We must train our brain to capture and process information that will create new ways of life. In doing so, we experience growth and success.

Take some time to do a Life Audit. Like really set aside one hour a day to think about your life and your habits. Make a plan to improve and set some healthy goals for yourself to achieve before this year ends. If you need tips and motivation feel free click here to connect with me.
