Life Audit: Getting My Shit Together
Half the year is over and we are now left facing the last few months in 2019. If you are anything like me this realization has left you with a little bit of anxiety. Waking up this morning was a blessing I hopped out of my queen size bed and happily flipped my wall calendar to the month of JULY. That’s when it hit me “FUCK! I GOTTA GET MY SHIT TOGETHER!”.
I sat at the edge of my bed reflecting on the last six months, feeling like time has passed hella quick and I missed it all. Throughout the day I was contemplating how I can make the next six months not feel the same way. Although I have been working, creating and living life, for some reason I feel like I have not been doing enough. I basically set out in January to take over this year and now I am feeling like I did not meet my mark. Luckily I still have time to harp on a few more of my goals and accomplish them. This I am grateful for.
I recently stumbled upon an article that spoke about Life Audits. A Life Audit is a way to evaluate your life. Plain and simple. How many times have we done this in the last year or so? For me None. Performing a Life Audit will help you figure out what you need to work on. If you have been feeling stuck or uninspired then I suggest doing one asap. Now is the perfect time since we are midway through the year.
A Life Audit is broken down into three basic categories mind, body and spirit. Each of these categories are broken down into subcategories such as career, health, family and so on. It’s really up to you which categories are important to you. Grab a notebook and write down every aspect of your life and begin to reflect, dissect and develop a plan for moving forward.
Below is a sample of my Life Audit categories. To learn more about Life Audits hit the web and do some research in your spare time.
