Time Affluence

For as long as I can remember my life has been ruled by self inflicted structure. I operated off my daily planner, itineraries, multiple to-do-lists, and time management apps on my iPhone. God forbid the day I forgot my planner at home as I rushed out the door, in my mind the day would be a mess. I figured if every second of the day had a task I would be super productive and successful.

I wanted to create this sense of security. The feeling that everything would be under control leaving less room for error or dysfunction. Ultimately I wouldn’t miss a beat on anything because it was “on top of it”. I did not realize how overwhelming this lifestyle had become until now. There is something extremely freeing about having free time.

Time affluence is exactly that, it is operating from a space of doing what I want to do without feeling like I need to manage my time. Knowing that I can use my time to do the things I please, simply do nothing, or indulge in some self-care. I have now created an increased feeling of happiness in my life. The way that I value time has significantly changed over the past few years, even more so in the last six months.

I finally see the beauty in having time to just be and enjoy life rather than succumbing to an organized busy lifestyle. Staying at the office to finish work was a thing I would regularly do over leaving early to spend time doing something more enjoyable. My well-being has quickly taken precedence in my life over anything else. At one point money and success ruled me, where as now quality of time is my ruler. Its been an amazing switch and has increased my level of satisfaction in life and how I choose to live each day.

The ridged and structured life I was forced to live based on society’s standards has become a thing of the past. I could never see myself living like that again, I have grown to appreciate time from a different perspective. The increased level of gratitude I have now simply because I choose to do more enjoyably things with my time and my life is PRICELESS!.

In conclusion, I recommend you drop your familiar routine and go do something unexpected and enjoyable. You wont regret it!
