Analog Girl in a Digital World
I’ve always felt like I straddle two worlds. On one hand, I love the creativity of modern technology the way it connects, simplifies, and enhances our lives. But on the other hand, I crave the slowness, the intentionality, and the tangible magic of life before everything became so instant. It’s wild how quickly things have changed and how easily we can fall into the habit of documenting our lives more than actually living them.
I’ve always been an analog girl at heart. The kind who still writes to-do lists on paper, sends handwritten notes just because, and enjoys the depth of a face-to-face conversation. And yet, here I am, sharing my life and thoughts in a digital space.
I created My Very Good Year to be a reflection of a life lived on purpose not one dictated by hustle, productivity, or money alone, but one filled with joy, alignment, and meaning. More than anything, I wanted to inspire others to do the same.
Many of us find ourselves caught between wanting to create something meaningful and getting lost in a space where scrolling replaces soul-searching. I refuse to let technology consume me. Instead, I choose to use it as a tool, not a crutch. I can be visible without being overwhelmed. I can honor both the new and the nostalgic, creating balance on my terms. I can take what serves me and leave the rest. I can show up, share, and create, but also step back, unplug, and just be.
Because at the end of the day, My Very Good Year isn’t just about having a good year it’s about creating a good life. A life where presence matters more than performance. Where we reclaim what feels real. Where we strip away distractions and get back to who we truly are.
If life feels like it’s moving too fast, remember: You are allowed to slow down. And if life feels stagnant, know that you have the power to step up and create your dream life. You can unplug, pause, and redefine or refine success on your own terms. You can ignite change by setting a plan in motion. Through self-awareness and self-love, you can manifest balance between being present and taking intentional action.
The world will keep spinning, but you don’t have to be swept away or left behind. And you certainly do not have to conform to how others are choosing to live their life. The most meaningful life you can live is the one that you choose for yourself.
