Plants & CHill

The return of Plants & Chill was nothing short of spectacular. This year we joined forces with Reforum Consulting to host our community of plant lovers from across the boroughs of New York City.

Plants & Chill was born from my personal plant journey which started early 2020. During the pandemic while being quarantined I spent more time talking to my grandmother who shared her green thumb wisdom. I began shopping and sharing my plants on social media. I thankfully connecting with other plant parents online who started asking “when’s the next time you going plant shopping?” and “I need help with my plant it’s dying!”.

On a whim in 2021 I shared my next trip to the nursery and invited anyone to join me. Several of us met at my favorite plant spot and ended the day with drinks and food at a local restaurant. Over the next few months, I was knee deep in plants, had curated a list of Black Owned nurseries, and attracted new people asking for recommendations on how they could start their plant parent journey. Plants & Chill quickly became a new way for us to engage, share, and spend time outdoors.

This past weekend’s collaboration was amazing we started our journey at The Sill Williamsburg. Arriving during their plant swap event and being completely mesmerized in the space. Everything was so beautiful and the staff was so friendly, accomodating, and knowledgeable. Our group had the pleasure of visiting Jungle NYC and Moss & Green before heading to Smorgasburg to eat and vibe out.

During our outing we had the chance to learn a little more about each other and what we are most passionate about. I was in complete gratitude for the good vibes, shared inspiration, collective love of plants, music and laughter as we walked the streets of Brooklyn with our new green babies. Reforum gifted attendees with a drink tumbler and seeds to start growing at home. I hosted a raffle giveaway and three attendees won items from my wellness shop Elated Elements.
