50 Things To Be Grateful For

A few weeks ago, the weather felt like spring for the first time in a long time, and I decided to hit the beach. I chose Rockaway Beach because the area is slightly familiar to me and parking is a breeze lol

I went there for a few reasons. To release my creative block, write for the blog and to meditate. I wanted to release unwanted energy in to the universe.

Before writing, I let myself become aware that I was there. My awareness shifted to how cool and rough the sand felt between my toes. How the mix of the breeze from the water and the warmth from the sun felt on my skin and how the water sounds and look crashing against the sand.

My mind began to drift away thinking about how the beach is so similar to my everyday life. The wave, in particular, represents how tumultuous and beautifully calm life can be. They cannot be either or solely, they have to exist simultaneously.

Life is like that. It’s the bitter sweetness that makes it so great. The ocean always reminds me that I am just one small footprint in the sand.

I reflected on a time in my life when I took everything and everyone for granted. I lived in a dark space for a very long time. One night, things just clicked in my head, and when I woke up, I was a new person. It’s hard to explain. I think I even cried that day. I remember feeling so great thinking about my life, and I never looked back. That moment was the first step to getting to the space I currently live in both mentally and physically.

From that moment, I intentionally express gratitude each and every day. I’m grateful for the smallest of things and experiences. I think most people forget to take those few moments to say thank you. We are always rushing, stressing, planning, and some of us partying that we neglect the very present moment.

So, I encourage you to think of all the reasons you are grateful. I am big on visuals, so write down why you feel grateful and list what you are grateful for in your life. I guarantee your mood will shift and your life will change.

I’m sharing my list below. Enjoy!
