Spring Cleaning
Spring has become one of my favorite seasons of the year. Cold days become warmer, naked trees start to bloom with flowers, and daylight hours gradually get longer. It is a symbol of growth and renewal, which adds this special excitement to my days.
Spring cleaning is a ritual that I look forward to for many reasons. It isn’t exclusive to dusting and mopping either. Although I dedicate time to decluttering and deep cleaning, I also “clean” other areas of my life. I start by reflecting on what has been working for me and what needs improving. I then create new goals that are in alignment with where I am currently in life.
I find there’s always room for improvement and change with everything we do. I love to breakdown all the areas of my life and brainstorm ways for me to become better. My specific areas include physical, business, and home just to name a few.
Here are a few ways that I love to “Spring Clean”:
Declutter and discard items that are no longer useful.
Donate or sell old clothing to make room for new items.
Shred outdated documents (like bills) or scan and store them on a hard drive to reduce paper pile up.
Revitalize the space with something new. A plant. A piece of art. Scented candles.
Deep clean those hard to reach spaces like dusting ceiling fans and washing windows.
Purge email accounts marking important emails for easy reference.
Delete contacts from your phone. Delete people from social media.
Review spending habits and set some new money goals.
Detox your mind and commit to reducing time on social media.
Detox your body and commit to drinking more water or eating less sugar.
Dedicate time to learn something new or create better habits.
Revamp your morning and evening routine. Make sure peace and solitude are included.
Spend more time with people you love and doing more of what you love.
Dig a little deeper into your spiritual journey. Open your mind to new ways and perspectives.
