7 Things To Do Besides Scrolling Social Media
I jumped on Instagram to check one thing and see what was poppin’ for the day. Next thing I knew two hours had gone by and I was still scrolling. I got so caught up saving memes, watching funny videos, and chatting with folks that I never even got up to use the restroom.
I felt soo bad afterwards because I had a ton of tasks to get done around the house. My to-do-list had not been touched at all and I wasted two hours being mildly unproductive. Although, I don’t feel it was a total waste, but I certainly could have managed my time way better. Even with technology allowing us to track our screen time its very easy to get caught up like this. Imagine wasting two hours or more a day just scrolling and chatting online. Hey it happens and I am guilty of doing this all the damn time.
In an effort to parent myself I wanted to be mindful and intentional with my time not only on social media but in general. I noticed I have a limited amount of spare time to work on things that are important to me. Yes! I am designating time for entertainment and fun, but I also need to get shit done!
Here are seven productive things we can do beside scrolling for hours each week.
Register for a class or course to help advance your professional career or expand your business ideas.
Throw your kicks on and get in a good intense sweat session or jump into calisthenics to build strength.
Call or Facetime a friend and catch up on life. Check in with your family members.
Tidy up the house.
Meditate for 20 minutes and set your intention for the next day.
Catch up on your favorite book or magazine.
Get a hold of your finances and review your spending. Create a budget for the upcoming week.
