10 Ways To A Healthier You
Summer has officially ended and the fall equinox has blessed us with some cool temperatures. This time of the year always places me in a reflective state of being. I have been thinking back on all the excitement I had during the summer. I was more active than I have been in years. I had the chance to experience some new things and connect with some dope individuals.
The last few weeks I have been shifting gears to focus more on self-care. Between work and managing a social life I was running myself into the ground. Creating a work-life balance can have a tremendous positive effect on our lives. A self-care routine should include reducing stress, exercise and nutrition, and improving our mental well-being.
As with anything in life we experience growth through repetition. Wellness should be a priority for us at all times. Here are a few things you can do to have a healthier you.
Rise and Hydrate
First thing in the morning you want to refresh your body with at least 16 ounces of Alkaline water. You may add fresh lemon wedges to stimulate your system . Do this before consuming coffee, tea, or food.
Decompress
At the end of a long day or week spend some time alone. Even if its just an hour. Play your favorite music, indulge in a hot bath or shower, light some candles, and do some deep breathing exercises. Don’t forget to head to bed at a reasonable time to maintain your energy levels.
Unplug
Schedule time away from your phone, social media, and answering emails. Being intentional about this can improve your quality of life and boost your mental health.
Mindful Eating
Be conscious of the foods and beverages you put into your body. Reduce alcohol and sugar intake. Limit meat and dairy products. Choose healthier options. Your body will thank you for it.
Treat Yourself
If you have a job that is physically and emotionally taxing on the body, schedule frequent foot and body massages. You can find some great inexpensive deals on Groupon.
Talk It Out
Have a lot on your mind? Is your spirit off? Need to vent? Find your closest friend and let those feelings out. I guarantee that tension and the knots in your stomach will disappear. Therapy is a great tool. I love my therapist, our sessions have been life changing.

Every paycheck transfer money to your savings account and do not touch it. Reduce your spending so you can save more. Having money stashed away gives you a feeling of stability. That feeling alone will add peace to your life.

Let go of negative energy and pray! Trust that the Most High has your back. Give thanks for all that you have in your life and all that you wish to acquire. We are soo lucky to be alive and well.
Seek Pleasure
Do things that spark joy for you. Whatever puts a smile of your face when thinking about it Do that. Do it frequently!
Sacred Space
Make your home a personal sanctuary. Declutter and organize things like bills and important documents. Discard items and clothing you no longer use. Fold the laundry and keep a tidy closet. Clean, sweep, and mop every few days. Create a complete comfort zone to come home to daily after being in the world. Invest in an oil diffuser and fill your space with some revitalizing scents like lavender and lemongrass.
